TAPD is excited to announce the launch of our FREE online courses delivered via Canvas!


We currently have four courses available:


Wired Network Management: This course is designed to help professionals in PK-12 educational environments learn the essentials and expand on existing knowledge to understand Wired Networking including Network Fundamentals, WAN and LAN Topologies, Quality of Service, Security for Wired Networks, Diagnostic Tools and Proactive Strategies

Procurement Practices:  This course addresses the fundamentals of technology procurement, including the requirements and legal aspects of technology procurement; when formal bidding is required; contract code details for formal, informal and non-bidding procurement; and the knowledge to avoid bid-splitting.

Cybersecurity:  This course will grow your knowledge of best practices in network security, protection of student and staff data, and implementation of a Cybersecurity Framework. Engage with K-12 professionals as you listen in on podcast conversations that inform, enlighten and inspire improved district and school security. Your growth is supported by having access to G-Portfolios of other students to support the development of your own responses to class assignments.

Wireless Network Management: This course was developed by Technical Assistance and Professional Development (TAPD) initiative at K12 High-Speed Networks (K12 HSN).  This course was designed for professionals who are responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing a wireless network in a K12 environment.  This course will provide a foundation of radiofrequency fundamentals and wireless standards to help you develop the knowledge and skills to assist you in providing a reliable and efficient wireless network.

Terms and Conditions: After submitting a registration request, you will be enrolled within seven days. You will receive a notice from Canvas when your enrollment is completed.  Once enrolled, participants will have 3 months to complete the course. Participants agree to receive email notifications and reminders from the Canvas LMS regarding enrollment and participation. Participants understand that their coursework placed in their G-Portfolio must be made public and will be viewed by other participants and TAPD staff members and consultants.
